CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHN] — A women driving her SUV on Troy Avenue realized that her vehicle started to heat up quickly. She pulled over to the side of the road, immediately exited her SUV and went to check what was going wrong, a few minutes later the SUV burst into flames causing thick smoke and the acrid smell of burning plastic and rubber.

The incident took place this Friday afternoon at 3:30pm at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Troy Avenue.

Firefighters responded to the scene and after a short few minutes they had the flames under control. The owner of the vehicle said that she recently had her SUV checked out by a mechanic and was undergoing some technical problems with the motor.

Thankfully there were no injuries.
