Big Names Coming Soon
Radio and TV commentator Glenn Beck, former UN ambassador John Bolton and comedian Jackie Mason will be seen in Crown Heights, CrownHeights.CH has learned.
A few famous personalities will be coming to Crown Heights this coming month for a fundraiser by the Friends of Gush Katif Museum, CrownHeights.CH has learned.
Topping the list of speakers at the Wednesday, February 22, event will be popular and controversial radio and TV commentator Glenn Beck, an outspoken supporter of Israel who recently held a large rally in Jerusalem.
Two other well known individuals are John Bolton, the former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, known for his uncompromising approach towards countries involved in spreading terror and using unconventional weapons, and Congressman Lee Raymond Terry of Nebraska.
They will be joined via Skype video conferencing by veteran Jewish comedian Jackie Mason, also known for speaking out on political affairs and Middle East conflict.
The dinner, taking place at the Razag Ballroom, will be benefiting the Gush Katif Museum in Jerusalem, dedicated to remembering Israel's fatal and unilateral "Disengagement plan" emptying the Gaza strip of its Jewish residents.
The emcee will be financial advisor and activist Dudi Farkash. Opening the dinner with a Dvar Torah will be Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Jacobson, spiritual leader of Congregation Beis Shmuel in Crown Heights and a contributor to COLlive's Torah classes.
Jewish-Irish violin virtuoso Daniel Ahaviel will be entertaining.
Organizing the event is "SOS Israel - Our Land of Israel," an organization fighting "political accords with the Arabs that include land or security concessions." It is headed by Rabbi Sholom Dov Wolpo from Kiryat Gat and Rabbi Yekutiel Rapp from New York.
Being honored at the event will be Sholom Ber Drizin, a Brooklyn real estate mogul and philanthropist.
"Under the inspiration of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Drizin is determined to help the unfortunate families expelled from Gush Katif and to prevent any further destruction of the Jewish presence and homes in Judea and Samaria," the invitation said.
The "Ohev Yisroel" Award will be given to Shlomo Marcovich, a Lubavitcher businessman and donor from Mexico City. He is a regular supporter of the Gush Katif Museum and its affiliates.
Ephraim Terrence Julius, an entrepreneur and a leader in the Chabad community of Beit Shemesh, will be receiving the "Lover of Land of Israel" Award.
