Michigan Appoints Ontario Shliach
Rabbi Sholom and Rivka Galperin, the new Shluchim to Windsor, Ontario in Canada were appointed by Michigan Head Shliach Rabbi Berel Shemtov.
Rabbi Sholom and Rivka Galperin and their children have been appointed as the Chabad Shluchim to Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
The Galperins will serve the local Jewish population of about 1500 as well as more than 100 Jewish students at the University of Windsor.
Rabbi Galperin serves as the rabbi of Congregation Shaarey Zedek of Windsor, the oldest Orthodox Jewish congregation in the city which was founded in 1893.
The Galperins were appointed to the Chabad post by Rabbi Berel Shemtov, the Head Shliach to Michigan.
Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada and is located south of Detroit with the Detroit River separating them. In Merkos L'inyonei Chinuch's geographical map of Shlichus territory, Windsor is considered Michigan's responsibility.
