Manchester Dinner For Mekurovim & Bochurim
As the Yeshiva year comes to a close, Bochurim of Yeshivas Lubavitch of Manchester organized a Dinner for their Mekurovim in the Beis Menachem Community Center Among the participants were the people from the Mivtzoim routes, the people who come learn with the Bochurim every Thursday night, and other people who discovered Judaism through the Bochurim.
As the Yeshiva year comes to a close, Bochurim of Yeshivas Lubavitch of Manchester organized a Dinner for their Mekurovim in the Beis Menachem Community Center.
Among the participants were the people from the Mivtzoim routes, the people who come learn with the Bochurim every Thursday night, and other people who discovered Judaism through the Bochurim.
The event was emceed by Rabbi Levi Cohen, who began by welcoming the crowds, and giving a brief description of the Yeshiva and the Rebbe's involvement.
The first speaker was one of the Mekurovim who discussed his journey towards Judaism which began with Bochurim doing Mivtzoim.
The next speaker was Rabbi Daniel Walker, a graduate of the Yeshiva who serves as the Shliach and Rov of the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation. He spoke about the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Akiva Cohen and the positive atmosphere which helps the Bochurim in their life.
He went on to describe the enormous effect that the Bochurim have on the city, and on his Baale-Batim who are visited by the Bochurim on Mivtzoim.
He thanked Rabbi Cohen for helping him as a Bochur, and concluded "Thanks to you, me and my family are Lubavitchers and Shluchim!"
A video was then shown, which showed the work of the Bochurim on Mivtzoim and interviewed some of the Mekurovim. The video was produced by the Bochurim Berry Cohen, Yankel Raskin and Mendy Landau.
A few Mekurovim then got up to speak and share their personal experiences, followed by an emotional speech by Mr. Yaakov Eisenberg, a Holocaust survivor who shared his life story.
The emcee concluded by thanking the Bochurim, thanking the local philanthropists Mr. & Mrs., Zalman and Risa Klein, who dedicate their life to helping the Bochurim. The event was organized by the Bochurim Eliyahu Nochum Block, Berel Paltiel, Levi Duchman, Mendy Brasinger, Mendy Landau and Mendy Danow.
