New Maggid Shiur in Baltimore

Rabbi Nochum Levin, part of a team working to translate the Shulchan Aruch, is joining Yeshivas Lubavitch of Baltimore.

Rabbi Levi Nejar, menahel of Yeshivas Lubavitch of Baltimore in Maryland, announced Friday the appointment of Rabbi Nochum Levin as the new magid shiur for shiur aleph zal.

Rabbi Levin, a naturally gifted teacher currently learning at the Kollel in Kfar Chabad, attended the Chabad Yeshiva in Kiryat Gat, followed by a year of teaching in the Mesivta of Moscow.

Despite his relative youth Rabbi Levin has already acquired a reputation as an energetic, chassidishe lamdan, Rabbi Nejar pointed out.

Rabbi Levin is part of a team of yungeleit who are working on a new ground-breaking project to offer an English translation of the Alter Rebbe's Shulchan Oruch, with contemporary commentary and footnotes.

Registration for this coming year at the Yeshiva has been sought-after with its reputation built on the staff which now include Rabbi Nejar, Rabbi Moshe Slvatici, maggid shiur bais and Rabbi Nochum Bukiet as mashpia.

R' Ephriam Rosenbloom, a local Lubavitch businessman, is the volunteer menahel gashmi who is dedicated to making the Yeshiva run smoothly.

The Yeshiva operates under the guidance of the Head Shliach of Maryland, Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan.
